RICHMOND (NEWS 1130) – Mounties in Richmond are asking for your help in finding a hit and run suspect.
The RCMP says a cyclist was hit Friday afternoon just after 3 p.m. in the area of Granville Avenue and 65th Avenue. They note the cyclist was heading east when their bike was reportedly clipped from behind by a silver Honda SUV, causing the cyclist to lose control.
“According to a witness, the driver of the SUV initially got out of the vehicle and looked at the cyclist,” the RCMP says. However, the force adds the driver is then said to have left the scene without providing the cyclist with his contact information.
The cyclist was taken to the hospital and has since been released. Mounties say a person in the area at the time of the incident was able to get a partial plate number of the vehicle: 73B.
The driver is described as a man in his mid-40s. He has a slim build and black hair.
Anyone with information or who has dashcam footage from the area and time of the hit and run is asked to contact the RCMP at 604.278.1212 and quote file number 2021-26317. You can also contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1.800.222.TIPS (8477).
