COVID-19: 624 British Columbians test positive, four dead

VICTORIA (NEWS 1130) — Over the past day, B.C. has recorded 624 new COVID-19 infections and four more deaths related to the virus.
Twenty more people were transported to hospital in the last day for a total of 370, including 132 who are in the ICU.
There are 5,929 active cases and once again, most are in the Fraser Health Authority which accounts for 2,323 infections.
In the Fraser Health region, there have been 258 COVID-19 cases and one death, while Vancouver Coastal Health, recorded 78 cases and two deaths. Interior Health saw 118 new cases and in the Island Health region, 79 people tested positive and one died. Northern Health recorded 91 cases.

Exactly 89 per cent eligible British Columbians have one vaccine dose, and just over 82 per cent have two.
From Sept. 29 to Oct. 5, people not fully vaccinated accounted for 70.8 per cent of cases and from Sept. 22 to Oct. 5, they accounted for 78.3 per cent of hospitalizations.
There are no new outbreaks at long-term care facilities and outbreaks at Jubilee Lodge in Northern Health and Victoria Chinatown Care Centre in Island Health have been declared over.
There are now a total of 16 active outbreaks in B.C. health-care facilities:
Long-term care: Willingdon Care Centre, Westminster House, The Residence in Mission, Magnolia Gardens, Manoah Manor and Good Samaritan Delta View Care Centre (Fraser Health); Cottonwoods Care Centre, Joseph Creek Care Village, Overlander, Village by the Station (Interior Health) and Wrinch Memorial Hospital(Northern Health.)
Acute care: University Hospital of Northern BC (Northern Health); and Royal Inland Hospital (Interior Health).
Assisted or Independent Living: Sunset Manor, Menno Terrace East (Fraser Health); and Cooper Place (Vancouver Coastal Health).
