A double stabbing in Coquitlam two weeks ago has become a homicide investigation after one man died from his injuries.
On Feb. 10, Mounties were called to a commercial area on Schoolhouse Street where they found 66-year old Terry Miller and another person suffering from stab wounds.
Miller was transferred to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, and passed away Tuesday.
The second victim is recovering and police believe the two victims knew each other. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has taken over the case, and at this point, the stabbings are not thought to be random, and not linked to the Lower Mainland gang conflict.
“A timeline of events is being constructed,” said Sgt. David Lee. “We are seeking witnesses to the event and persons who knew of Mr. Miller’s activities.”
Homicide investigators are asking for witnesses who were in the area on Feb. 10 around 8 p.m. or if they have dash-cam footage around the crime scene including the area of Brunette and Lougheed around 8 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. to call the IHIT Information Line at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448) or by email at ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.
