Amber Alert cancelled after two B.C. children found safe in Ontario

An Amber Alert issued for two young B.C. children Saturday has been cancelled after they were found safe in Ontario, RCMP say.

RCMP suspect 36-year-old Jason Dalrymple allegedly abducted his four-year-old son and 10-month-old daughter from the Fort St. John area. Police added the children may have been in a vehicle with their mother, Dawn Bellamy.

Mounties said the mother and children were “in danger while in his presence,” and were taken “against their will.”

Police added, two dogs and cats were with them.

The suspect was believed to be headed east, possibly to Ontario in a vehicle registered to 23-year-old Bellamy. Mounties notified police detachments across the country to also keep an eye out.

Three hours after the alert was issued, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) confirmed they located the vehicle, suspect, children and mother in Kenora, Ontario, just east of Manitoba.

Police say a man was taken into custody and charges are pending.

The mother and her two children are safe and receiving support, Mounties added.

Before the alert was issued, the mother and children were last seen at around 11:00 a.m. Thursday.

Identifying information of the children has been deleted for privacy.
