Multiple weather warnings in B.C. for snow, cold conditions

Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) has issued over two-dozen weather warnings across British Columbia for snowfall and cold weather on Sunday.
The snowfall warnings for Highway 3 are from Paulson Summit to Kootenay Pass and Allison Pass between Hope and Princeton. In both cases, between 15 and 25 cm of snow is expected from Sunday into early Monday.

On the Coquihalla Highway, snowfall warnings have been issued for a stretch between Hope, through Merritt, all the way to Kamloops. Between 15 cm and 25 cm of snow is also expected from Sunday into Monday, with strong winds potentially leading to blowing snow.
Highway 97C, or the Okanagan Connector, from Merritt to Kelowna is also seeing a snowfall warning with up to 25 cm expected by Monday.
Howe Sound remains under a snowfall warning with up to 10 cm expected by the end of Sunday.
All these conditions, ECCC says, are due to a low-pressure system off of Vancouver Island that is bringing precipitation onto the mainland.
The weather agency advises people to adjust their driving according to the conditions and to leave a safe following distance in poor visibility.

Further north, the Central and North Coast areas are under arctic outflow warnings, with strong winds making temperatures feel like they’re near -20 C in those regions.
“Minimize exposed skin with hats, scarves, and mittens or gloves. Anyone who is not dressed warmly is at risk of frostbite and hypothermia in cold weather. Be prepared for unusually cold temperatures and strong winds,” said ECCC.
