Companies interested in working on the Surrey-Langley SkyTrain extension are being invited by the province to submit their qualifications for the third and final contract of the project.
The B.C. government says the qualifications are for a contract to install the trackwork, as well as for the installation of electrical systems such as power, telecommunications, and automatic train control.

The deadline is Jan. 23, 2023, after which as many as three teams will be invited to submit their proposals.
It is the third request for qualifications the province has issued. The first one was in August for the building of infrastructures like bike lanes, roadwork, and the elevated guideway. The second was issued in October for the construction of eight new SkyTrain stations.
The Surrey-Langley SkyTrain project will be a 16 km extension of the Expo Line from King George Station to Langley City Centre. The province says it will provide “high quality and low-cost transportation” across Metro Vancouver.
Work on the Surrey-Langley SkyTrain extension is set to begin in 2024. It’s expected to be operational by late 2028.
