Vancouver police search for suspect who pulled knife on security guard

Vancouver police are hoping the public will help identify a man accused of pulling a knife on a security guard near the Hotel Vancouver last month.

The VPD says it happened on Oct. 27 around 7:30 p.m. Investigators say the suspect was “loitering in the breezeway” of the hotel and was asked to leave by the security guard before the latter was threatened.

Police released footage of the incident on Wednesday, Nov. 16, with video showing the interaction play out.

“Given the time of day and the location of this incident, we believe there may be witnesses who have not come forward. We also believe that people will recognize the suspect and can help us identify him.”
