Coquihalla Highway fully reopens between Hope and Merritt

Traffic on the Coquihalla Highway (Highway 5) has now reopened after multiple collisions had both directions closed between Hope and Merritt for a time Sunday.

This comes as a blast of winter weather has threatened driving conditions throughout the Lower Mainland and on the mountain highways.

According to Drive BC, northbound traffic on the Coquihalla was closed between Coldwater Road and Comstock Road, about nine kilometres south of Merritt. The same stretch of highway was also closed southbound.
