A Vancouver driver has been handed a steep fine after being caught travelling 74 kilometres per hour over the speed limit on Sunday.
According to a tweet from Vancouver Police Department’s (VPD) traffic section, it happened just before 6 p.m. along SW Marine Drive between Old Marine Drive and Westbrook Mall.

The area’s speed limit is 50 km/h, but police appear to have pulled over the driver after clocking them travelling at 124 km/h.
Police shared an image of the vehicle in question in the tweet, posting a picture of what appears to be a grey Dodge Charger with an “N” decal on its rear window behind a tow truck.
The VPD also shared images of what appears to be the ticket issued to the driver, where a $483 fine is seen alongside the offence of “excessive speed if the speed limit is exceeded by more than 60 km/hr.”
