Vancouver Canadians unveil new field name with Rogers partnership

The home field of the Vancouver Canadians officially has a new name.

Rogers Communications has taken over naming rights, announcing Tuesday the debut of Rogers Field at Nat Bailey Stadium, as part of the five-year agreement between the baseball club and telecom giant.

In addition to naming rights, the company is also partnering with the Canadians on “an annual community initiative.”

“We’re committed to helping the next generation of players and fans reach their full potential, and to help build stronger local communities through our expanded partnership with the Canadians,” said Rogers President and CEO Tony Staffieri.

According to the Minor League Baseball team, the field at Nat Bailey Stadium was first built in 1951. It was given its name in 1978. Most recently, the field has been known as “Scotiabank Field.”

Jake Kerr, chair of the Vancouver Canadians, says this partnership comes as the team and ballpark “begin a new era.”

The Vancouver Canadians’ 2023 regular season officially began on April 5. This season marks the team’s third as the High-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays.

The C’s are set to return home for a six-game series against the Eugene Emeralds (Giants) on April 25.

Rogers is the parent company of this station.
