On Friday, the company tweeted that Victoria Day is expected to be a “busy day of travel” from Swartz Bay in Victoria especially. Those without a booking were advised to arrive early.

Monday is expected to be a busy day of travel from #SwartzBay. Customers planning to travel to #MetroVancouver without a booking should arrive early. If your plans are flexible, consider walking on board or travel on Sunday or Tuesday to avoid sailing waits. ^at— BC Ferries (@BCFerries) May 20, 2023
Those looking to travel to and from Vancouver Island were also urged to consider leaving from Nanaimo instead of the provincial capital.

This weekend, space is limited for customers travelling with a vehicle between #HorseshoeBay and #DepartureBay (Nanaimo). Consider travel from #Tsawwassen to #DukePoint (Nanaimo) to reduce the likelihood of experiencing waits. (3/6) pic.twitter.com/rAnA7anEdb— BC Ferries (@BCFerries) May 17, 2023
