B.C. drug bust sees 4kg of fentanyl seized, 3 arrested

Three people are facing charges in connection to a 2020 drug bust in which police seized four kilograms worth of fentanyl, along with other substances.

According to the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit of B.C., it began in May 2020 when police got word of an alleged drug trafficking operation in the Lower Mainland.

In November of that year, police searched four homes — two in Burnaby, one in Vancouver, and one in Abbotsford.

During those searches, officers seized approximately four kilograms of fentanyl, along with heroin, and other substances that had been cut with fentanyl, including heroin, carfentanyl, ketamine, methamphetamine, and MDMA. Police also seized about $24,000 in cash.

Investigators say on May 16, three people were charged in connection with the alleged trafficking operation.

Karina Marie Graham, a 32-year-old from Vancouver, is facing three counts of trafficking a controlled substance and one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Leo Minh Trung Thach, a 27-year-old from Vancouver, is facing four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Forty-year-old Aaron Trung Thanh Nguyen, from Vancouver, is facing one count each of trafficking a controlled substance and possession for the purpose of trafficking.

All three have been arrested and released with conditions while they await trial, police say.
