B.C. wildfires: crews face multiple out-of-control blazes

Fire crews in B.C. are still battling a number of out-of-control wildfires in the province.
Burning near the small community of Tumbler Ridge, the West Kiskatinaw River fire has grown to more than 19,700 hectares.
The Peavine Creek wildfire which is east of the community, has grown to more than 3,200 hectares.
An area restriction has been implemented in the vicinity of the South Peace Complex, managing the Peavine Creek (G70644) and West Kiskatinaw (G70645) wildfires. An evacuation order is in place for those in the area. Additionally, the BC Wildfire Service says an area restriction order was also issued Saturday for the area of the South Peace Complex.
The suspected cause of both fires is lightning, the service says.

Meanwhile, near Harrison Lake, the Chehalis River wildfire has grown to 800 hectares as of Saturday.
Over on Vancouver Island, the wildfire that prompted the closure of Highway 4 is also still burning out-of-control and is estimated to be 254 hectares in size.
A few new wildfires have also popped up in the Prince George Fire Centre over the weekend, with the largest estimated at about 50 hectares.
