TD Bank direct deposit, debit account issues
One of Canada’s biggest banks is having major problems Friday, as a technical issue is affecting customers’ direct deposit transfers and debit card payments.
In response to multiple social media posts asking TD Canada Trust what’s going on, TD Bank says it is “aware of an issue causing customers in Western and Eastern regions to not receive their Direct Deposit today.”
Many have taken to Twitter highlighting their need to receive their paychecks.

“It’s crazy @TD_Canada is having issues with people getting paid today and they aren’t even letting people know. I’ve had multiple people contact me asking where their pay is…. Any update??,” one Twitter user asked.
“Yup, no pay for anyone within my work environment who banks with @td_canada. Extremely upsetting as people have automatic withdrawals coming out,” another said.

While another Twitter user is asking why the bank hasn’t communicated the issue directly with its customers.
@TD_Canada It’s payday today! Anyone who banks with TD at my job did not get paid. Why?

“Why isn’t there any communication to the people who woke up to withdrawn accounts because Direct Deposit failed?! Seriously, nothing on your website, nothing emailed, texted Direct to ppl,” they said.

The bank says it has teams looking into the issue.
Yo @TD_Canada why no official word on this payday deposit issue and I only found details why I’m not paid yet from reading your replies?! You notified me I’m overdrawn, but couldn’t tell me there is an issue with deposits?!

It’s asking its customers to “continue to monitor” their accounts to confirm whether or not they receive their scheduled payments.

“Our support teams have been engaged and are investigating the issue. Our apologies for any inconvenience,” the bank said.
In an update posted to the bank’s social media channels just before 10:30 a.m., the bank says that any fees incurred during today’s problems will be refunded.
We’re aware of an issue causing delayed direct deposit payments to some customers. As we work to resolve the issue, we’d like to assure our customers that any fees incurred due to missing direct deposits will be refunded once the issue is resolved. Thank you for your patience.

Customers are also reporting they are unable to use their debit cards to purchase goods and services or transfer money between their accounts.
I was just at my branch and they told me I cannot even use a debit card to purchase or withdraw cash.
This is strike 4.

Another customer said that as they’re unable to use their bank card for transactions, they’re unable to get home from work.
“Relying on money today I don’t even have gas to get home from work. Done with TD after my ghost money is received,” the customer said on Twitter.
