North Vancouver break-and-enter suspect arrested after barricading himself in building

A large police presence in North Vancouver Saturday morning was due to a break-and-enter, according to the North Vancouver RCMP.

Officers were called to a building in the area and Chesterfield Avenue and 15 Street West, a spokesperson with the RCMP told CityNews.

Mounties say when officers arrived in the area, the suspect ran away to a nearby abandoned building and barricaded themselves inside.

The Emergency Response Team was called in, and police say a male suspect has since been safely arrested.
