Surrey RCMP seeks ID fraud suspect after business loses $237,000

Mounties in Surrey are looking for a suspect who may have used someone else’s identity to defraud a business of $237,000.

According to the Surrey RCMP, officers were called to a currency exchange business in the area of 128 Street and 80 Avenue on March 18.

“Through investigation it was determined that the person who uttered the fraudulent bank drafts was utilizing another person’s identity,” a news release reads.

Mounties say the suspect is a woman who is described as being 5’7″ tall with a slim build.
