Detour in place as West Vancouver brush fire closes Sea-to-Sky Highway in both directions at Highway 1

The Sea-to-Sky Highway (Highway 99) remains closed due to a nearby brush fire, but a detour has now been set up.
Drivers can use Horseshoe Bay Drive to get through.
Fire crews remain on-scene as they battle the three-hectare fire burning in West Vancouver near Whyte Lake.

The blaze was discovered earlier Monday afternoon and led to the closure of the major artery.
In a tweet, West Vancouver Fire and Rescue says crews are on site, advising drivers to take caution and avoid the area.

Fire crews note that the area around the lake is also closed due to the flames.
In a tweet, one user posted photos that show billowing white smoke as seen from an area west of the blaze.
