A B.C. MLA is joining other politicians in Canada in urging Taylor Swift to include Canada in her international tour.
B.C. Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture and Sport Lana Popham took to Twitter over the weekend to “officially invite” the singer to Vancouver as part of The Eras Tour, which Swift recently announced added 14 new shows.
“We have an amazing facility @bcplace! We remember U from 2015 but this time it would be one for #TheEras! Taylor we are waiting!” Popham’s tweet reads.

Popham’s post came after Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made his public plea to the superstar on social media. In a tweet reply, Trudeau used Swift’s own lyrics to encourage her to rethink the decision not to include Canadian dates on her tour.
“It’s me, hi. I know places in Canada would love to have you. So, don’t make it another cruel summer. We hope to see you soon,” the prime minister tweeted on July 5.

The Eras Tour, which began in the U.S. in March, is billed as an homage to all of Swift’s studio albums. It currently has 131 planned performances across the world, none of which are north of the 49th parallel.
The bad blood over Swift snubbing Canada on her tour even reached the House of Commons, where Conservative MP Matt Jeneroux said last month he was filing an “official” grievance “on behalf of all Swifties” in the country.
