The countdown to ski and snowboard season starts today: Whistler Blackcomb has announced its opening day for the 2023/24 winter season will be Nov. 23.
In the meantime, Whistler remains open for mountain biking until Oct. 9.
In addition to announcing the opening date, parent company Vail Resorts says Whistler-Blackcomb’s Fitzsimmons Express chair lift is set to be replaced this year with a new high-speed 8-person lift, which will be the first of its kind across its North American resorts.
“The upgrade will help reduce lift line wait times out of the base at Skier’s Plaza in Whistler Village, increasing uphill capacity and improving circulation in the mid-mountain area.”
