Calling all charcuterie lovers!
A Metro Vancouver-based catering company says it will attempt to create the world’s longest charcuterie board along Canada’s longest pier at an event this weekend in White Rock.

Wes Levesque with Sheila’s Catering Company says there will be 250, two-foot-long boards stapled together to make one long board.
Will this beat the world record? Guinness World Record representatives will be at the event to make sure this measures up.
“The current record is 200 feet,” Levesque said. “We are absolutely smashing it at 500 because we don’t want to make it easy for anybody to beat our record.”

Currently, the world record for the longest charcuterie board is held by Peter Wachtel and Adolfo Camarillo High School. This was set at an event in Camarillo, California, on March 24, 2023, and included 500 pounds of food.
Levesque says all net proceeds will go towards three local charities: Sources Food Bank, Semiahmoo Rotary Club, and Friends of the Pier.
But can this food stay fresh all day? Levesque says yes, with the help of ice blankets that will cover the food. As well, only one-third of the board will be open at a time.
There will also be a number of falconers to help keep all the seagulls away, he says.
This ticketed, all-day event takes place on Saturday and will include live music, drinks, and entertainment.
