The Kookipi Creek wildfire has destroyed 27 structures, the Fraser Valley Regional District says.
Six of the structures lost to the fire, located south of Lytton and northwest of Boston Bar, have been identified as residential, the district explains, adding the rest were recreational and maintenance buildings.
“I am grateful for no loss of life and the ongoing resilience of residents,” said FVRD Director Diane Johnson for Electoral Area A.
“The impacts and trauma associated with the Kookipi Creek Wildfire are undeniable, however, the communities we call home will support each other as we recover from the impacts of the wildfire.”
The district says it has been in touch with all owners whose properties have been identified as destroyed or damaged.

Kookipi Creek wildfire evacuation order downgraded
It is asking anyone who is or is planning to enter evacuation alert areas to be cautious of hazards, including poor road conditions and danger trees.
Residents are encouraged to read the Re-Entry Guide before they return.
“The FVRD Board and I wish to express our appreciation to all Electoral Area A residents, Boston Bar, and Boothroyd First Nations for their commitment to safety and patience while adhering to the Evacuation Order and Alerts,” said FVRD Chair Jason Lum.
“Now that Evacuation Orders have been downgraded to Alerts and residents are returning, we acknowledge you have been tested beyond comprehension. Community strength is built from a foundation of unity and the strength you all have exhibited is inspirational.”
As of Thursday, the Kookipi Creek fire was an estimated 17,296 hectares. It is still considered out of control and is impacting multiple traditional territories.
