Man pleads guilty to manslaughter, sentenced in Grandview Park death: Vancouver police

A man arrested in connection with the 2021 death of a 60-year-old in Grandview Park has been sentenced, the Vancouver Police Department says.

According to the VPD, 41-year-old Jeff Arnie Lincoln pleaded guilty to manslaughter and was sentenced on Aug. 30 of this year.

Lincoln was arrested in January 2022, following a five-month investigation.

Police previously said Gilles Hebert was assaulted in the park along Commercial Drive and Charles Street around 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 5, 2021. He was reportedly knocked unconscious and later died of his injuries in the hospital.

It’s unclear what prompted the incident.

Lincoln has been sentenced to six months in prison, in addition to a 21-month credit for time already served. The VPD says the man will also serve two years of probation and be subject to a 10-year firearms prohibition after he is released from custody.
