The City of Vancouver is appealing for input on how locals think public spaces along Broadway can be improved as a development plan is in the works.
The survey opened on Thursday and will take opinions on how places to “play, relax, socialize, and feel connected to nature” can be implemented into the ongoing Broadway Plan until it closes on Oct. 22.
The 30-year Broadway Plan canvases the areas between Clark Drive and Vine Street, and between 1st and 16th Avenues. The city says it will include the addition of new housing, job space, and amenities to build up the neighbourhood as the Broadway Subway opens up.

“Broadway is one of the vital connectors in the city and region and the area’s population is estimated to grow by up to 50,000 people over the next 30 years. As Vancouver’s second downtown, it’s home to the second largest job centre in B.C. and runs through several neighbourhoods: Kitsilano, Fairview, and Mount Pleasant,” the city stated in a release.
“Feedback received will help shape the directions of the Broadway Public Realm and Streetscape Plan, which will guide improvements to help make neighbourhoods in the area more livable, accessible, sustainable, and complete.”
The city already plans on improving Burrard Slopes Park within the Broadway Plan area and has opened the floor to public feedback on that project as well.
