Suspect dead after Quesnel home invasion: police

Police in Quesnel say a suspect is dead after a violent home invasion and attempted robbery.

On Jan. 5, the Quesnel RCMP says it responded to a report of a home invasion in West Quesnel.

Police say the homeowner described an armed man attempting to rob him, before a “violent encounter” left the intruder dead.

The incident was isolated, police say, and there’s no risk to the public.

“The investigation is still ongoing,” said Sgt. Clay Kronebusch. “Police are working to confirm the details of the reported incident and the suspect’s actions leading up to the event.”
