Vancouver opens more shelters as overnight temps drop

The City of Vancouver is urging people who are unhoused to use one of its shelter spaces as overnight temperatures are forecast to dip over the coming days.
The city says extra shelter spaces will be available to those in need from Tuesday night until Thursday amid the “extreme weather alert.”
Alerts are generally issued when temperatures are set to feel like or below 0°C through these nights.
