Mission RCMP called out for shots fired Saturday morning

The RCMP in Mission says it found signs of gunshots fired in the Silverdale neighbourhood early Saturday.

Police say they received calls around 6 a.m. from people who live near the area on Hayward Place near Hayward Street.

When they arrived, they found shell casings, but nobody was hurt and no homes were hit.

Mounties say a neighbouring home has been secured for further examination, and the Serious Crime Unit will remain on scene throughout the day to find additional evidence.

Anyone who heard or witnessed anything suspicious in the area recently is being asked to call Mission RCMP at 604-826-7161.
