One person airlifted to hospital after serious Delta crash

Police say a collision has sent one person to hospital in Delta on Friday.

The Delta Police Department (DPD) says there was a serious collision at 1st Avenue and English Bluff Road, at around 4 p.m.

Inspector James Sanberg, public affairs manager for the DPD tells CityNews that a vehicle had rolled over and the driver “appeared to be in some distress.”

Sanberg says emergency health services and the fire department were requested at the scene.

“The first aid treatment that was provided at the scene, the driver was airlifted to the hospital as a result of those injuries,” he said.

He says English Bluff Road south of First Avenue is closed as a result of the incident.

Police suspect speed was a factor in the crash, with an investigation now underway
