Surrey man arrested Monday for fatal White Rock Stabbing

A Surrey man was arrested on Monday, in relation to a fatal White Rock stabbing that shook the neighbourhood last week.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) says a 28-year-old man was arrested in connection with the stabbing of 26-year-old Kulwinder Sohi on Tuesday, April 23.

Sohi was with a friend near Marine Drive, just east of Dolphin Street, when he was stabbed just before 9:30 p.m.

A candlelight vigil for Sohi, organized by family members was held on Sunday, April 28, at Cypress Street and Marine Lane.

“This remains a very active investigation,” says Sergeant Timothy Pierotti of IHIT.

“We recognize the public’s concern for safety and want to provide updates as soon as possible.”

IHIT says it is still asking for witnesses to come forward, and looking for dashcam footage from anyone in the area between 8 and 10 p.m. on April 23.

Sohi’s death came just days after another stabbing in White Rock. On Sunday, April 21, around 9 p.m., Jatinder Singh, a newcomer to Canada, was stabbed in the back of his neck while sitting on a bench with his wife.
