Man killed after being struck by train in Chilliwack, RCMP say

A man has died after being struck by a train in Chilliwack on Friday night, according to RCMP.

Police said officers were called at about 9:45 p.m. following reports that a person had been hit by a train. Upon arrival, officers located a man beneath the Yale Road overpass.

BC Emergency Health Services responded to the scene and pronounced the man dead.

The circumstances surrounding the collision have not been released, and police have not identified the victim.

Chilliwack RCMP are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have information about what happened to contact investigators at 604-792-4611.
