As the Canucks get ready to take on the Edmonton Oilers in Round 2 of the Stanley Cup playoffs, the City of Vancouver hints at the possibility of an outdoor viewing party. Cecilia Hua reports.

The City of Vancouver says fans can expect “more information” this week about potential public viewing parties as the Canucks head into Round 2 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

In a release Monday, the city said it’s “very aware of the high interest” for a place to come together and watch Vancouver take on the Edmonton Oilers.

The city said it is now exploring options with partners for public viewing, but declined to tell CityNews what those options are, or when exactly hockey fans can expect to hear news.

Until then, the release advised fans hoping to attend the playoff game on Wednesday, May 8 to keep an eye on traffic advisories around the Rogers Arena and plan accordingly.
