The City of New Westminster announced it’s hosting multiple public viewing parties to watch the Canucks.
The Vancouver Canucks will face the Edmonton Oilers in their first game of Round 2 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs on Wednesday, May 8 at 7 p.m.
In a release Wednesday, the city said it has arranged for four locations across New Westminster for people to watch Game 1 together.
“We encourage you to support our local businesses, but if you need barrier-free access, we’ll be playing the game on lobby screens,” the release said.
Those screens can be found at Moody Park Arena, Queen’s Park Arena, the Queensborough Community Centre, and there will be a viewing at the New Westminster Youth Centre for kids aged 11 to 18.
Each facility is limited to 50 people, as not to disrupt regular programming.
The release teased another indoor-viewing event at the Anvil Centre for Game 2 on Friday.
