Motorcycle crash in Mission sends 1 person to hospital

Paramedics took one person to the hospital after a crash in Mission Wednesday.

The crash involving a motorcycle happened in the area of Highway 7 and Hayward Street just before 5:30 p.m.

According to BC Emergency Health Services, four ambulances were sent to the scene.

“Paramedics provided emergency medical treatment and transported one patient to hospital in stable condition,” BC EHS said in an email.

Reports say bystanders and first responders were seen attending to at least one person.

It’s unclear whether the person transported to hospital was on the motorcycle or in another vehicle. The cause of the crash is also unknown at this time.

The Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) has been called in to investigate the crash. The BC RCMP says ICARS “is responsible for the forensic reconstruction of collisions that result in serious injury or death.”

Police shut the highway in both directions between 287 Street and McLean Street. The route reopened to traffic at around 12:30 a.m. Thursday.
