Wildfire crews are busy battling an out-of-control wildfire that is 41 kilometres south of Princeton.
The Calcite Creek wildfire was first spotted on Thursday, July 18, and has grown over time.
It is roughly 900 hectares in size as of Monday.
An evacuation alert is in place for the communities of Placer, Pasayten and Eastgate.
The BC Wildfire Service says they went back today after there was growth in the northeast and east parts of the fire.
Aydan Coray with the Kamloops Fire Centre says crews are still busy working into the evening.
“Crews are working on reinforcing containment lines using heavy equipment, there was also a medium helicopter bucketing on the fire throughout the day,” she said.
The fire is believed to be caused by lightning.
