Invictus Games launches ‘I AM’ campaign ahead of 2025 Vancouver Whistler event

The first-ever Winter Invictus Games unveiled the first of 10 signature elements of its campaign that will be featured throughout Vancouver and Whistler leading up to the Games.
“[Tuesday] marks 200 days until the opening ceremony of the Invictus Games and we unveiled our first ‘I AM’ sign,” Scott Moore, Invictus Games 2025 CEO.
“You’ll see nice more of these popping up across the Lower Mainland and in Whistler,” he added.
Over 500 service personnel and veterans will be converging on the Lower Mainland in 2025 to compete in the international sporting event.
The Games are part of a shared journey of healing, as the competition welcomes wounded, sick, and injured service members.
“When they come back from service they’re still fighting for equality, showing ability and constantly healing as we all are,” Canadian Paralympic athlete Rick Hansen said.
“They’ve helped advocate for social justice, human rights, and they’ve also pioneered the formation of the Paralympic Games which was my inspiration as a young athlete,” he added.
Invictus Games 2022 alumni and veteran Patrick Levis told CityNews that after becoming disabled, he lost his “identity.” competing has allowed him to recover who he is.
“It’s opened my eyes, using sports for recovery and rehab and for improving my daily life. Now I compete internationally in wheelchair tennis,” he explained.
Competitors will face off in a number of sports, such as snowboarding, swimming, and wheelchair curling. The 2025 Games will be the first year to include winter sports in the program.
“You have to show up and cheer for Team Canada, but also for all athletes because, regardless of what uniform they’re wearing, they’re going through their own challenges and they need support,” he added.
The Invictus Games 2025 Vancouver Whistler will be held from Feb. 8 to 16, 2025.
