The Surrey RCMP says a woman faces charges in relation to the alleged stabbing of another woman in Surrey early Sunday morning.
Mounties say officers were called around 2 a.m. for a report of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle in the area of King George and 108th Street. When they arrived, they found a woman who was unconscious and covered in blood.
It was then they determined she hadn’t been involved in a motor vehicle accident but had been a victim of a stabbing.
On Sunday, police said a possible suspect had been found and taken into custody, and the victim had been taken to hospital.
In a release Tuesday, the RCMP says the suspect arrested was a 36-year-old woman, who has since been charged with aggravated assault and assault with a weapon.
Mounties say the suspect has been remanded in custody until her next court appearance.
They say the victim remains in hospital with life-threatening injuries.
