RCMP seeking suspect in series of sexual assaults in Coquitlam

The Coquitlam RCMP is asking the public for help identifying a suspect in a series of sexual assaults.

Police say they have received seven separate reports of an unknown man inappropriately touching women as they are walking.

Five of the incidents took place on Wednesday and Thursday between 3:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. in the Burquitlam area of the city. Two other incidents took place on Friday in Glen Park on Pipeline Road.

After all seven incidents, the suspect fled on foot.

“Public safety is our top priority and our officers are working diligently to identify and locate this individual,” said media relations officer Sgt. Alexa Hodgins.

“We are asking anyone who may have witnessed these incidents or who may have experienced a similar incident to contact our investigators.”

The suspect is described as being 20 to 30 years old, between 5’7″ and 6′ tall with a slim-to-medium build. He was described as wearing a plaid jacket with a hoodie underneath with the hood up.
