Vancouver streets to close for annual Sun Run

One of the biggest 10-kilometre runs in North America is once again set to take over parts of downtown Vancouver this weekend.
The 41st annual Sun Run will see tens of thousands of runners, joggers, and walkers hit the pavement on the morning of Sunday, April 27.
Running begins at 8 a.m. but the road closures begin at 5 a.m.
The starting area will close Georgia Street between Seymour and Bute streets from 5 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Georgia Street will be reduced to single-lane traffic from Pender Street to the Lions Gate Bridge from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Other closures include:
Howe/Hornby/Burrard/Thurlow streets: from Dunsmuir to Robson streets | 5 a.m. to 11 a.m. |
Denman Street: from Georgia Street to Beach Ave | 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. |
Beach Avenue: from Davie to Jervis streets | 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. |
Pacific Street: from Jervis to Burrard streets | 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. |
Burrard Bridge | 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. (noon) |
West 3rd Avenue: from Burrard to Fir streets | 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. (noon) |
Fir Street: from West 3rd Avenue to West 4th Avenue | 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. (noon) |
6th Avenue East exit from Granville Bridge | 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. (noon) |
West 4th Avenue West 6th Avenue: from Pine to Cambie streets | 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. (noon) |
West 3rd Avenue: from 2nd Avenue to Columbia Street | 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. |
Columbia Street: from 3rd to 6th avenues | 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. |
6th Avenue: from Columbia to Quebec streets | 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. |
Quebec Street: from 5th to Terminal avenues | 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. |
Quebec Street: from 2nd Avenue to Prior Street | 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. |
Additionally, Pacific Boulevard will be closed from Terminal Avenue to Griffiths Way from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.; Expo Boulevard will be closed from Nelson Street to Pat Quinn Way from 5 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.; and the Cambie Bridge exit ramp to Pacific Boulevard will be closed from 5 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.



Sun runners will cross the finish line along Pacific Boulevard near BC Place.
