Testing the national public alert system: Wednesday

This week, be ready to hear your phone, TV, and radio go off at the same time.

At 1:55 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7, the Canadian government will be testing its emergency alert system.

It says the purpose is to validate and improve the emergency alert system’s effectiveness.

This test happens two times in the year, with the second one scheduled to take place this year on November 19.

It will be heard across the country except in Quebec.
