2 men charged after 2-year drug trafficking investigation in Lower Mainland

A Burnaby man and a New Westminster man have been charged after a unit of combined B.C. police forces seized kilograms of illicit drugs, weapons, vehicles, and cash in the Lower Mainland.
The Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit of British Columbia (CFSEU) says an investigation that started in 2023 led to three searches.
Police reported seizing:
- 28 kilograms of methamphetamine,
- Two kilograms of MDMA,
- 850 grams of ketamine,
- 729 grams of cocaine,
- 362 grams of fentanyl,
- Five kilograms of cannabis,
- Three kilograms of cannabis concentrate,
- A nine-millimetre firearm and ammunition,
- Four vehicles,
- $100,000 in CAD and $1,000 USD,
- And two high-end watches,
The CFSEU says two men were arrested in February last year.
On Tuesday, charges against a 32-year-old man from Burnaby and a 29-year-old man from New Westminster were approved.
The Burnaby suspect is charged with one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl, one count possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine, cocaine, and ketamine, and one count of possession of a loaded or restricted firearm.
The New Westminster suspect is charged with one count possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine, cocaine, and ketamine, and an additional count of possession for the purpose of trafficking ketamine.
Warrants for their re-arrest have been issued, police say.
