93-year-old woman dead at scene of Surrey crash

A woman is dead, and a road in Surrey’s Fleetwood neighbourhood is closed Tuesday afternoon as police investigate a crash involving two vehicles.
A Surrey RCMP support unit says it was called to the scene on 92 Avenue near 158 Street around 10:30 a.m.
CLICK HERE TO LISTEN TO 1130 NEWSRADIO VANCOUVER’S LIVE TRAFFIC UPDATES“Surrey Fire Service firefighters and BCEHS paramedics attended the scene and despite life-saving medical interventions, a 93-year-old woman, the driver of one of the vehicles, died,” police explained.
Police say the cause of the collision is under investigation. Staff Sgt. Lindsey Houghton says investigators do not believe that alcohol or impaired driving was a factor in the crash.
He says the deceased driver was travelling alone, and the other driver was not seriously injured.

Drivers can take 92A or 93 avenues to avoid the intersection.
