Man arrested after alleged knife-slashing in White Rock

A man was arrested after an alleged stabbing and police chase in White Rock Sunday night.

The White Rock RCMP says it responded to reports of a fight involving a knife on Oxford Street near Marine Drive around 9:50 p.m.

When officers arrived, they reportedly saw the driver of a vehicle attempting to flee the scene and pursued him.

Police say a “high-risk traffic stop” followed.

“A man matching the suspect description was inside the vehicle, and he was arrested and transported to White Rock RCMP cells,” Mounties said Monday.

Officers also found a victim at the scene, who paramedics treated for “injuries consistent with being slashed.”
