Overnight maintenance to close Pattullo Bridge to southbound traffic

Rerouting: TransLink says drivers and bus riders going from New Westminster to Surrey over the next two nights will be detoured due to maintenance work on the Pattullo Bridge.

Maintenance work on the bridge will shut down the southbound lanes from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. starting Tuesday, Aug. 5, and again Wednesday night through Thursday morning.

The bridge will remain open at all times to pedestrians, cyclists, and first responders. TransLink says northbound traffic will not be affected.

Vehicle commuters can take the Port Mann or Alex Fraser bridges to make their way across the Fraser River.

“Some N19 NightBus trips will be rerouted over the Alex Fraser and Queensborough bridges between New Westminster and Scott Road stations,” said TransLink.

A replacement for the Pattulo Bridge is currently under construction and scheduled to open this year.
