Blaze near New Westminster gas station appears to be extinguished

Flames and smoke were visible near a New Westminster gas station on McBride Boulevard near 8th Avenue Saturday afternoon, according to several callers to 1130 NewsRadio.

As of early afternoon, further images on social media show the fire appears to have been extinguished.

A photo shared with 1130 NewsRadio shows what appear to be flames near the Chevron gas station, but the specific location has not been confirmed.

We have reached out to New Westminster Fire & Rescue Services and BC Emergency Health Services for more information.
