Police are still working to find the exact location of the shooting, but officers reportedly searched the park and nearby homes.

Around 6:30 a.m., the SPS says hospital staff reported that a man had arrived in the emergency department with a gunshot wound.

“Investigators will be interviewing the apparent victim,” police said, appealing to witnesses or anyone with more information to call the SPS non-emergency line at 604-599-0502 and quote file number 26-25968 (SP).

Investigators do not believe the incident is related to extortion. In an update Friday afternoon, the SPS told CityNews it appears the parties knew each other and had some sort of disagreement before the man was shot.
