Motorcycle crash in Abbotsford caused road closure

The Abbotsford Police Department (AbbyPD) is on the scene of a crash on Saturday afternoon at the intersection of Whatcom Road and South Parallel Road.
Police say that the incident involves a passenger vehicle and a motorcycle and occurred shortly before 2 p.m.

“The motorcyclist sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to hospital. The occupants of the SUV were shaken but were not injured.”
BC Emergency Health Services says that two ambulances responded to the scene, with paramedics providing emergency medical treatment to one patient.
Police add that the intersection was shut down for several hours as an investigation was launched.
“The investigation remains in its early stages, with assistance from the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS),” Abby PD said.
