Abbotsford police make large firearm and drug seizure through targeted operation

Abbotsford Police Department (AbbyPD) announced today that following a targeted operation, called Project Interruption, they have made a large firearm and drug seizure.
The operation started after a traffic stop in April of 2025, says AbbyPD.
AbbyPD witnessed a known drug trafficker to be driving a car while prohibited from driving. When officers pulled him over and arrested him, they found drugs and a handgun on him.
From this arrest, the AbbyPD’s Drug Enforcement Unit started Project Interruption, targeting the 36-year-old known trafficker in Abbotsford, police say.
Police executed several search warrants in the process of the investigation.
One was on a residence near Deertrail Drive and Rockhill Road.
From the search warrants, AbbyPD seized more than 12 kg of drugs. The drugs included carfentanil, cocaine, and crystal meth.
Also seized was over $60k, body armour, a firearm, and several loaded magazines.
The man was charged on June 29th with:
- Six counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of a firearm contrary to an order
- Possession of a loaded/unloaded w/ammo prohibited/restricted firearm
- Driving while disqualified
AbbyPD say the matter is now before the courts and the investigation is concluded.
