Over 70 properties in the East Kootenay region are under an evacuation alert as the Lussier River fire has grown over the weekend.
The properties in the Premier Lake area are in danger from another out-of-control wildfire.
The BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) reported that the cooler weekend temperatures have let them make some headway over the fires.
At the same time, BCWS is pointing out behaviour that could interrupt their work.
After Highway 1 was reopened on Saturday, between Boston Bar and Jackass Summit, drivers have been carelessly driving through the affected area.
The speed limit is 60 km/hr, and it is a no-stopping zone, says BCWS.
Drivers have been speeding through the fire zone and pulling over to film the firefighters.
BCWS also saw a drone flying near the Brunswick Creek wildfire.
Drone activity puts both crews and the public at risk, and helicopters and airtankers had to be temporarily suspended, says BCWS.
Violations of the flight-restricted area can lead to a fine of up to $25,000 and up to 18 months in jail.
