Man charged after three assaults in downtown Vancouver

A 45-year-old man is facing multiple assault charges after three separate incidents in downtown Vancouver on Thursday, according to police.
The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) says officers responded to several reports between 9:50 a.m. and 12:55 p.m. involving a man allegedly acting erratically and randomly approaching people on the street.
Police say the first incident occurred around 9:50 a.m. near Seymour and Georgia streets, where the suspect allegedly punched a man in the side of the face as he walked along the sidewalk.
Approximately 10 minutes later, the suspect allegedly spat in a man’s face near Davie and Granville streets.
A third incident was reported at approximately 12:55 p.m. near Georgia and Hamilton streets, where the man allegedly spat in the face of another victim.
Officers were able to quickly locate and arrest the suspect following the alleged assaults.
Gregory Edwin Lawrence Brumwell has been charged with three counts of assault and remains in custody.
