A man went on a car window smashing spree on Monday at Brentwood Mall, says Burnaby RCMP.

Just before 6:30 p.m., police were called to the parkade after several reports from witnesses to the window breaking. A total of 16 cars had their windows broken.

RCMP and Brentwood Security searched for the suspect after getting a good description from witnesses, but he had left the area before police arrived.

While investigators have gotten CCTV footage of the area, they are looking for any dashcam footage from the parkade.

Police are not releasing images of the suspect currently but may in the future.

“We will first attempt to identify the suspect internally, through local and provincial channels,” said Cpl. Mike Kalanj with the Burnaby RCMP.
