Fatal motorcycle accident in Langley claims one life

A single-vehicle accident, involving a motorcycle colliding with a tree, has claimed the life of the rider. 

The Langley RCMP say at about 10:17 p.m. on Oct. 6, they responded to a crash in the 20500 block of 16th Avenue. 

First responders attempted life-saving efforts on the rider but they were pronounced dead on the scene. 

Sgt. Zynal Sharoom of the Langley RCMP told CityNews the motorcycle rider went off-road, lost control and collided with a tree.

Sharoom confirmed the registered owner of the motorcycle was the rider and their family has been notified.

Investigators are now working with the BC Coroner Service to determine the cause of the accident.

The Lower Mainland Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) have joined the investigation.

The road was shut down for many hours while investigators worked the scene.
